We are surrounded by the picturesque Kapiolani Park which offers ponds and an outdoor amphitheater where there are often local artists and groups entertaining at the weekends. You'll also find local artists showing off their vibrant pieces on Sundays on the 'Wall of Art' next to Honolulu Zoo (just 8 mins walk away)

The stroll along the promenade into Waikiki is beautiful and relaxing, a must to grab those famous 'sunset selfies' to show to friends and loved ones.

The Suite has a small fridge, microwave, coffee machine with a few days supply for your morning beverage.
There's a mini mart convenience store just 4 mins walk from our property that has most of the essentials and sunblock etc.

Getting around:

Listening to the ocean from all of the rooms in this condo on the 11th floor make this an exceptional find in Waikiki! The large lanai with an unobstructed view of the ocean comfortably seats seven. You'll love viewing the sunsets from here or just enjoying beverages and meals while you watch the surfers, sailors, and paddle boarders. There is a lovely patio and grass seating area available only to guests of the Diamond Head Beach Hotel with tables, chairs, and chaise lounges.

The condo sleeps six comfortably (king bed, queen bed, and new queen sleeper sofa). It is a corner unit, large (almost 1,000 square feet, including the lanai). It is on the quiet side of Waikiki very close to the Honolulu Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo. You can swim, snorkel and surf at the best beaches in Waikiki ~ the famous Sans Souci Beach and the Kaimana Beach with calm waters protected by a reef. The hotel is across the street from the beautiful Queen Kapiolani Park. It is the largest (300 acres) and second oldest park in Hawaii. The park has tennis courts, work-out bars, running paths, and many lovely shade trees. Updated in 2017 this condo has everything you need for a wonderful stay, including a new 55" inch Samsung smart television. There is a full-size kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove/oven). The kitchen is fully equipped, including a coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, toaster, dishes and cookware. The dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave are new in April, 2017. Washers and dryers are conveniently available in the building.

Our guests do not pay a resort fee. You don't need to rent a car! Exploring Waikiki from here without a car is convenient because it is easy to walk or take buses and taxis. There is a Russell’s convenience store selling a variety of supplies, food, and alcohol just a five-minute walk from the Diamond Head Beach Hotel (adjacent to the New Otani Hotel). The Speedi Shuttle (and other shuttle services) are easy to book online for transportation from and to the Honolulu Airport.

There are excellent restaurants within a five-minute walk. Michel’s serving lunch and dinner is in the Colony Surf at 2895 Kalakaua. The famous Hau Tree Lanai is an open-air restaurant in the New Otani Hotel at 2863 Kalakaua and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. The New Otani has two other nice restaurants ~ the Miyako Japanese Restaurant and the Sunset Lanai.
Further west on Kalakaua is Lulu Lulu’s at 2586 Kalakaua open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Cheeseburger in Paradise is located at 2500 Kalakaua open from 7:00 a.m. to 12 a.m. Duke’s, famous for brunch, tropical beverages and live music, is located at 2335 Kalakaua and open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will also find McDonald’s, Burger King and Subway in the same area. The ABC stores are excellent for gifts and snacks. If you enjoy shopping, you will like strolling along Kalakaua where there are many local and international shops selling clothing, jewelry, shoes, and souvenirs.

Located on the first level this suite has the more generous lanai outdoor living space to enjoy your meals al fresco, morning coffee or late night drinks. The Wet Bar Kitchenette includes a fridge, tableware and additional pantry items (coffee maker, toaster, rice steamer, tea pot). The “Dining Nook” pub table is adjustable to accommodate your needs, comfortable for eating and also as a computer work station. Complimentary items in the suite include snorkel gear, tennis racquets and beach towels (items are offered upon availability for use during your stay). The Master bedroom offers a Trump Serta queen mattress bed and the living room a queen sized sofa sleeper. Two HD TV's are in the suite with cable service, WiFi internet access and HDMi/LAN line for high-speed connections and video streaming from your laptop. Cleaning supplies and utensils are available for your use to help keep the Suite fresh and sanitary.

The building offers coin laundry (iron & board are in the suite), ice machine and surfboard / bicycle storage. The grounds are well landscaped with lounge chairs on the grassy courtyard and tables on the patio. A courtesy phone is located in the main lobby area (808-921-8262) along with a restroom and lobby seating.

Parking is available free along Kalakaua Avenue and metered on the Kapiolani Park side, please read all signs carefully. Metered parking is $1 per hour from the hours of 10 am to 6pm with free parking from 6pm to 10am. Parking can also be arranged within the building for an additional fee through the management agency, reservations are encouraged prior to arrival. Parking is always tight during parades, festivals and events at Kapiolani Park, please be aware and plan accordingly.

There are two Tennis Court areas so bring the complimentary tennis racquets. One area is lighted for evening play and the other boasts 10 courts. Within the park is the Waikiki Shell Amphitheater, check the schedule for concerts and performances. The Outrigger Canoe Club is on Kalakaua along with the Elk’s Lodge. Although exclusive private clubs for members, the Gold Coast residents have such warm Aloha you just might find yourself invited as a guest for dinner or drinks and pupus on the breath taking lanai. Take a brisk walk up Diamond Head Road past the lighthouse (bring some leftover popcorn for the chickens), stop at the majestic lookouts and search the vast horizon for whales, watch in awe at the acrobatic kite surfers and sailboards as they flip through the air at this well-known surf spot. It is also common to see hang gliders and paragliders soaring over the edge of Diamond Head, a spectacular sight. There is also a path to access the beach area, step carefully. Make your way up to the Diamond Head State Monument and take the hike to the top for even more panoramic spectacular views.

Ride thebus! Yes, everyone in Waikiki takes “thebus”, don't be shy, especially if you plan to enjoy a Mai Tai or two. There are so many advantages, skip parking, convenient, goes to just about every place you want to be. There is just too much information to list, check out the website for details and download the app. Key points to note, the bus stop is conveniently located outside of the building to the left #14,19,20,22. Don't forget to grab the paper transfer slip. #19 and #20 will bring you all the way from the airport to the condo. Use the Google maps tool to plot your course to popular destinations throughout Waikiki and the Island like the Waikiki Library, Waikiki Golf Course, Safeway, Kapahulu restaurants and shops. Head east to Kahala Mall, Whole Foods, and for the adventurer all the way to Hanauma Bay, Sea Life Park and Makapu'u Light House hiking trail. The east side offers shopping, dining and sports activities with a local flare. There is also a costco there so don't forget your membership card.
